I used Thanet Timber and Damp Ltd for a not insubstantial list of work on my newly purchased Victorian house (damp proofing, internal and external timber work).
They were extremely helpful, prompt, conscientious and always available for updates. I was rather nervous as this was the first time that I had commissioned this type of work and they explained everything clearly and kept me in the picture which was very reassuring.
The work was done to budget and on time. I would not hesitate to recommend the company. Many thanks

Woodworm, dry rot and wet rot are the most common timber decay. Most buildings are built using a certain amount of timber, in older buildings it can be as much as 75% of the whole structure.
Following identification and cause of the timber decay, we will submit recommendations for remedial/treatment.
Rising damp or penetrative damp in walls will, in time, cause deterioration of internal wall plaster and can be detrimental to the health of the occupiers.
The most common causes of rising/penetrative dampness in buildings are:
No existing damp proof course – Bridging of existing damp proof course – Leaking pipes – Faulty rainwater goods.
Following identification and cause of rising/penetrative damp, we will submit recommendations for remedial treatment.
Specialist Timber and damp Surveys are carried out by a fully qualified surveyor (C.S.R.T) registered with the Property Care Association (PCA) and in accordance with the PCA Code of Practice.
We cover the whole of Thanet towns and surrounding areas:
